At the same time I was interested in the Chinese principles of painting, (ref is )

Initially my interest in Flocking came from materiality research on Wallpaper. I was drawing on very long scrolls and cheap wallpaper end rolls.
Flocking is an electrostatic process and we were in the middle of an energy crisis.
I live next to a racecourse and used horses ( the link being the energy and power of the horse ) as a drawing subject but moved on to John Muir Country Park storm damage.
The flocking process takes on spontaneous brush marks but you have to work really quickly as the glue dries. Some of the flocking light on dark or Flocking on Veneers turned out best and I started to think about horse bones on the veneer. I moved onto test on plastic type materials and the results were not as pleasing.
The veneers are manufactured, fragile.They are a fake front. I visualise them large but have been testing small and adding lighting.
Burning size is very limited in digital making machines avialable. So I am not sure scaling up is going to work. Lots of problem solving even at small scale.
Now thinking about them in 3D and they are so light and fragile, they could be made to look solid and heavy but be suspended in the air.
